I apologize for the multitude of youtube embeds, I’m working on editing the music posts so they’re not cluttered with silly videos. In the meantime, I wanted to post more songs.
The streets surrounding me are currently flooding from water gushing through large holes and cracks in the road. This means that I’m effectively trapped here unless I find a kayak to navigate out of the streets. Here are some cozy songs for staying in and folding hundreds of pieces of paper.
We survived the hectic holidays, and narrowly escaped Blue Monday. Now freezing winds, slippery sidewalks, and banks of snow do well to encourage you to stay inside under a pile of blankets. To keep you company while you try to stay warm, here’s some winter music.
Tomorrow will be my 2 year anniversary on blip.fm!
When I first found blip (I think it was @astroboy who introduced me), I thought blip was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I immediately went crazy finding new songs, blipping my favourites, trying to achieve those stickers and props.
Fellow DJs and I would create hashtag playlists of quirky themes like #songsaboutfood or #stalkersongs or #robotlove. If I saw someone tweet that they were cleaning the house and wanted to hear hip hop, I’d @ reply a whole playlist for them to listen to; if i said I was going to workout at home, people would @ reply workout tracks to motivate me (props to @JoeSeven for the best blip to do push-ups to). I participated in fundraisers with thousands of people to raise money for great causes through blipping (the next big one is blipathon for MSF on February 14). When I found new tracks, I’d run to blip to @ reply the people who I’d know would love it, and they did the same for me. I even attempted to earn the marathon badge by blipping every hour for 24 hours straight.
My blip playlist has gotten me through getting back in shape, living in a “foreign” city for 6 weeks, eleventh-hour studying, fixing lines upon lines of php code, entertaining me at work and so much more. The best part about my playlist is that because I haven’t attempted to sort it in any way, it’s literally a history of what I’ve listened to and obsessed over for the past 2 years.
Although I regret to admit that I haven’t been blipping for the past few months, I have still been checking in to listen once in a while. Take this as my word that I’m back to blip!
I’ll leave you with some tracks I’ve selected from my playlist from my first year on blip, in chronological order (I left out most electronic tracks and the ones that have become stale).

Seriously, I’m starting over again with the blog. It’s going to be epic.
